The Boston Celtics took Game 2 against the Miami Heat Thursday night. This road win was huge for the Celtics for a few reasons. It evened out the Eastern Conference Finals series 1-1, and Boston proved once again that they are a serious championship contending team.

Jayson Tatum discussed how put together his team is following the dominating 127-102 win.

“I think the sign of a good team is how you respond after losses, especially the tough ones. It shows the character of the group,” he said, quote courtesy of ESPN.

Tatum had a fantastic performance in Game 2 with 27 points, five rebounds, and five assists. He also shot 8-13 from the field, 4-6 from deep, and 7-7 from the line.

While Game 2 was a prime example of the Celtics' tenacity, it's not the first time the team displayed its perseverance in this year's playoffs.

According to ESPN, this was the fourth time in the 2022 NBA Playoffs that the Celtics answered a loss with a win. Out of those four times, three were on the road.

And, in those four games, Boston defeated its opponents by an average of 17.3 points a game. ESPN reports that the Celtics' performance is on target to be the “fifth-highest margin of victory after a loss in a single postseason all time” out of teams with at least three games of this nature.

Moving forward in the series, the Celtics are in really good shape. They have Marcus Smart and Al Horford back in the starting five, and the next two games are on home court. Tie-breaking Game 3 of the Celtics vs Heat series is Saturday night in Boston.
