In the NBA's Christmas Day games, the Boston Celtics took on the Brooklyn Nets at TD Garden. However, point guard Jeff Teague has had a Christmas to forget.

Fans would think that professional basketball players would appreciate when a wide-open path to the basket presented itself to them, almost like a Christmas gift under the tree. However, Santa's gift to Teague was left in the dust.

Here are two videos of Teague missing a wide-open dunk and layup.

The Celtics certainly did not have this in mind when they acquired Jeff Teague, a 13-year veteran whose defense has been acknowledged by many people in the NBA.

Blown layups aside, Teague can prove to be a great addition to the Celtics' young core led by the talented Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart. Along with the addition of board-hungry Tristan Thompson, the Beantown team is in a great place to do well in the Eastern Conference and go far into the playoffs.

Last year in the bubble, the Celtics lost in the East Finals to the Miami Heat, who would go on to lose to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA finale. The outstanding displays of talent from the young core, however, showed that the Cs were not a team to ignore.

With the addition of Teague and Thompson–ignoring the bloopers and SC Not Top Ten appearances they may appear in–the Celtics have put themselves in a  position to replicate or surpass the success they had last year.
