Boston Celtics star guard Kemba Walker has called Jaylen Brown the X-Factor of their team, per Jay King of The Athletic.

“When Jaylen gets going I think he’s the X-factor for us. When he has it going he definitely gives us a lot more options — and he’s been playing well all year.”

For the season, Brown is averaging 19.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals across 33.4 minutes. In their latest victory, a 112-93 pummeling of the Miami Heat, Brown dropped 31 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 from the 3-point country.

Analysts have observed that Brown is much more aggressive in driving to the hole and has a better understanding of the game. This has enabled him to bulk up his numbers, especially in the rebounding category.

In large part due to his efforts, the Celtics currently sport a 15-5 record for second place in the East. They have won six of the last 10 games and are still undefeated at home.

With Gordon Hayward still out, Brown has definitely stepped up to fill in the scoring void. Hayward is not expected to return until Christmas. This has given Brown extra opportunities to showcase his new and improved game. And so far, he has impressed every Celtics fan including his star teammate Kemba Walker.
