Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker makes his return to Spectrum Center on Thursday to face the Charlotte Hornets.

Walker spent the first eight years of his career with the Hornets. The All-Star guard signed with the Celtics this summer in free agency as part of a sign-and-trade deal involving Terry Rozier.

Walker doesn't expect to hear any boos from the Hornets crowd on Thursday though, especially since he gave everything he had in his time with the franchise.

“I expect it to be a great reception,” Walker said Wednesday on WFNZ, via Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. “There isn’t any reason for me to get any boos, or anything like that.”

The 29-year-old floor general finished his Hornets career with averages of 19.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 605 games. He made the All-Star team three times and is the franchise leader in points, minutes played, field goals, 3-pointers and win-shares.

With Charlotte, Walker only went to the playoffs twice. One of the main reasons he signed with the Celtics is because he felt like Boston gives him a better shot at being competitive.

Charlotte fans will surely give Walker a standing ovation. Once the game starts, though, they will be rooting for the Hornets to upset Walker and the Celtics.

Boston is 5-1 on the young season. Walker is averaging 26.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
