There has recently been a lot of talk about the possibility of the NBA deciding to shake things up by completely reshaping the league's format. Commissioner Adam Silver has led the charge in this regard, which has been met by some mixed reactions within and around the NBA. One of the proposed changes is a play-in tournament to determine the final seeds for the playoffs. Instead of the seventh and eighth seeds automatically advancing to the postseason, the proposed play-in tournament may, for instance, pit four teams in a do-or-die, knockout-type stage to determine which teams will earn the coveted playoff spots. For his part, Boston Celtics superstar Kemba Walker does not seem to be on the same boat with commissioner Silver on this one.

“It’s not going to happen,” Walker said, via Jared Weiss of The Athletic. “They’re not going to do it, I don’t think.”

It is without question that the proposed changes are rather drastic, and it comes to no surprise that there are more than a few folks that are not very much willing to accept the same. Walker appears to be a member of the neigh vote.

One thing is clear, though. Commissioner Silver is an agent for change. Complacency is not just one of his virtues, and judging by the new rule changes recently implemented by the league, the possibility of a revamped schedule and format in the league might just come to fruition sooner rather than later.
