The Boston Celtics suffered a disappointing 104-91 blowout loss against a struggling Washington Wizards side on Sunday, which unsurprisingly, prompted some pretty strong comments from Boston point guard Kemba Walker.

After the game, Walker was asked if the Celtics need to hold a players-only meeting amid their current slump, to which the four-time All-Star responded with a bit of feistiness:

“Those players only meetings don't work, to be honest,” via Tom Westerholm of Boston.com.

Clearly, Walker was not in a good mood after the Celtics logged their fourth loss in five games on Sunday. The fact that this was supposed to be an easy win for them against a Wizards side that sits all the way at 14th in the Eastern Conference only makes matters worse.

Kemba actually had a good showing for the C's in this one, logging 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting, with four triples, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. It came in a losing effort, though, which is undoubtedly the thing that matters the most for the 30-year-old guard.

Walker's statement about the ineffectiveness of players-only meetings is also quite telling. In most cases, teammates are able to hash things out during these exclusive meetings, and it usually results in better team chemistry moving forward. Is Walker saying here that this simply isn't the case for the Celtics? We might be reading too much into Walker's comments — which he could have said out of frustration — but then again, it's also possible that we're not.
