The Boston Celtics have somehow survived a rollercoaster of highs and lows throughout a tumultuous season that has glued them to the fifth seed in the East. Kyrie Irving, the resident self-proclaimed leader of this team, has felt the brunt of the responsibility of what losses signify — something he hardly had to deal with during his first season with the team.

Once again, after dropping a 115-96 result against the San Antonio Spurs; the Celtics' fourth consecutive loss — Irving was forced to answer for his team once again after he and his teammates had a post-game meeting following their recent loss.

“Winning's hard. Team environments are hard,” Irving said, according to The Associated Press. “It's not as simple as listening to everybody else speak about what's going on with the team… Nobody's been in my position. Nobody here. So I don't expect anybody to understand that. Nobody can speak on it.

“For me, my focus is figuring out, the guys I have in this locker room, is how to get the best out of them and them get the best out of me.”

The Celtics have now had countless meetings in hopes to determine their chemistry, their roles, their frustration and a myriad of other things that have plagued this roster throughout the course of the 2018-19 campaign.

Irving is now seeing the toll it takes to be the focal point and leader of a team that has these sort of baffling struggles, ones he hopes don't come to plague them throughout the looming postseason.
