In an era of player control, almost every pairing of superstar players is imaginable, as the stars seem to align, in some cases forming a supernova of talent in one team.

Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving will control his own fate next offseason as a potential free agent, so he was naturally asked who'd be on his team forty years from now.

per Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News:

“Of course KD (Kevin Durant). Just having a 7-footer on your team never gets old. You definitely have Steph (Curry) on there, James (Harden), guys that are just naturally skilled. You don’t have to do too much moving to get from point A to point B. At that age, you're limited in movements, so probably just a bunch of shooters. Klay, as well, in there. Guys who can just space out and run the Princeton offense.”

Irving surprisingly picked three of his former arch-rivals in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant — three elite shooters that trend toward the NBA's evolution of a more spread-out offense.

Soon-to-be MVP James Harden was also chosen as another teammate, while completely snubbing his former running mate LeBron James — though that is understandable given that he left the Cleveland Cavaliers to step out of his shadow.

Harden is also in line to win the very-coveted award over James this time around, sinking that dagger even deeper.

James will be 37 years old four years from now, likely another reason why Irving isn't picking him as a future teammate, even if some were hopeful of a reunion.
