As the Boston Celtics (12-2) look for their 13th victory in a row Tuesday night against the Brooklyn Nets (5-8) at Barclays Center, the team got good news earlier today when star point guard Kyrie Irving returned to the starting lineup. The All-Star point guard suffered a facial fracture in the first quarter against the Charlotte Hornets last Friday.

According to a tweet posted this morning by Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, the Celtics star stated that he was accidentally hit in the face by his daughter, who's turning two years old, Azurie Elizabeth Irving the other day.

“I did my absolute best not to cry in front of her,” Irving said on Tuesday.

Head coach Brad Stevens also had a little fun at Uncle Drew's expense, as he almost bumped into Irving right before an interview session with the media.

“You might wanna put that mask on,” Stevens said.

Kyrie Irving is wearing a protective mask tonight against the Nets to help shield his facial fracture after he missed the Celtics' nail-biting 95-94 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, so we'll have to wait and see how much it affects his shot and court vision.

In 13 starts this season, the four-time NBA All-Star is currently averaging 20.3 points, 5.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game in roughly 31 minutes of action per contest.
