After the Boston Celtics lost to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, Kyrie Irving had a lot to say about the defense of Brandon Ingram.

Irving told Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe:

“Being guarded by Brandon Ingram most of the game, I can't even lie to you guys, those guys on the defensive end are unusual. Driving lanes that I see against every other team, they were closing down the lane.”

The Celtics simply did not hit as many shots as they needed too. The Lakers set a new team record on the number of threes made in a game. They had a slight rebounding advantage and the Lakers were able to shoot slightly better than the Celtics.

For the Celtics, three starters and six total players scored in double-digits. Jayson Tatum had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Kyrie Irving scored 24 points with seven rebounds and eight assists. Daniel Theis scored 20 points off the bench. Terry Rozier also had 18 and dished out six assists. Jaylen Brown added 18 points off the bench as well.

The Lakers had seven players in double digits on the night. James led the way with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists for yet another triple-double. Kyle Kuzma had 25 points and five rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rajon Rondo, and JaVale McGee each had 17 on the night. Overall, the Lakers were just the better team and were able to dominate all game long.
