Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving recorded his 16th double-double of the season on Friday against the Washington Wizards, which is the most double-doubles by a Celtics guard since Rajon Rondo had 20 during the 2012-13 season.

Kyrie Irving entered Friday averaging 23.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game for the Celtics. Uncle Drew is shooting 49.6 percent from the field, 41.5 percent from beyond the arc and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Irving has already set a career-high for double-doubles in a season. The six-time All-Star will now look to break Rondo's mark of 20, which shouldn't be that hard to do for Kyrie since there's still over 20 games left in the season.

As everyone knows, this season for the Celtics has been anything from smooth. Boston was the preseason favorite to win the Eastern Conference, but for some reason, Irving and the Celtics haven't been able to meet those grand expectations. The team entered Friday with a record of 37-25, good for fifth place in the East.

Now, Boston can still be a dangerous team once the postseason starts since they have so much talent on the roster and a killer in Kyrie Irving. It remains to be seen, though, if the Celtics can turn on some type of switch.

Boston was able to snap a four-game losing streak on Friday by defeating the Wizards at home.
