Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving put on a show on Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.

The Celtics defeated the Kings by a final score of 126-120. Irving recorded a triple-double with 31 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists in 38 minutes of action.

It was the second triple-double of Irving's career and his first since 2014 when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kyrie Irving shot 11-of-28 from the field against the Kings. With the win, the Celtics improved to 42-27 on the season.

Boston has won four of its last games and is starting to look like a contender again.

Scoring has never been issue for Irving, but he has shown all season that he can run an offense now with his improved passing skills. Uncle Drew entered Thursday averaging a career-high 7.0 assists per game.

The Celtics are going to go as far as Kyrie Irving can take them in the playoffs. The All-Star guard didn't play in the postseason last year after he was forced to undergo season-ending knee surgery. You know Irving is hungry to play on the playoff stage again after missing out on it last season.

Boston now trails the Philadelphia 76ers by 1.5 games for the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
