The Boston Celtics have been an incredibly hard team to figure out this season. They are an impressive 5-3 against the Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers, and yet, they are a puzzling 2-5 against the Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns.

This past week was a prime example of their inconsistency throughout the year thus far.

After routing a very good Indiana Pacers team by 27 points on Wednesday, the Celtics proceeded to get smacked by the Miami Heat on Thursday night and followed that up with their second loss of the season to the Orlando Magic on Saturday.

In spite of their strange 2018-19 campaign, Celtics star Kyrie Irving insists that Boston is better than most teams in the league and that it just needs to show it on a regular basis:

“I know from the majority of the fact that we’re better than most teams in this league,” said Kyrie Irving after the Celtics' loss to the Magic, according to Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston. “It’s just going out and proving it every single night and demanding it and actually showing it.”

Irving has a point.

After all, Boston has a plus-6.4 net rating, the second-best mark in the NBA. The C's are also 15-7 over their last 22 games and rank in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

So, all of the numbers tell us that the Celtics are one of the league's best teams and are better than their 25-17 record.

However, Boston has struggled on the road, where it has gone just 10-12 this season.
