The Boston Celtics on Friday morning introduced their two prized offseason acquisitions in All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward.

It has been well documented the connection and influence that head coach Brad Stevens has had on Hayward joining the Celtics, and it now appears he has played a part in getting Irving to be willing to join the fray as well.

Stevens has quickly earned the recognition as one of the brightest coaches in the league that has helped turn the Celtics into a constant in the playoff picture since his arrival a few seasons back. The fact that he has positively impacted the decision-making process for both Hayward and Irving is quite an encouraging sign moving forward as he could be used to lure in more talent in the future.

What could also be viewed as is being a subtle shot at Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue, who has held that position for the last 2 1/2 seasons with the team. However, what should be noted is that he and Irving have had a strong standing relationship and this may not have been the intended interpretation of his comments.

Ultimately, Irving is walking into a prime opportunity grab as the leading star with the Celtics while competing for an NBA title.
