Kyrie Irving made a lot of headlines when he shared last season that he thinks the Earth is flat. He has received mixed reactions from it, and many wondered if he was serious about it or not. Now he has broken his silence about the topic, and made it known that he was just trolling everyone with his much talked about statement.

The Boston Celtics point guard appeared on the latest episode of the Toucher and Rich show, that is scheduled to air on Tuesday, where he apparently said that he was just trying to be funny about it.

Irving was judged by a lot of people right after he said that, as they couldn’t believe that he thought of the planet as such. There are even others who questioned his intellect and the kind of education he got, as it has been taught in school that the Earth is round.

Now that he has clarified it, he hopes that his fans will look at it on the lighter side, and keep in mind that he was just trying to be funny, and that it was intended to be a joke. However, it can be expected that he will still receive some criticism for it. For what it’s worth, Irving will most likely not be affected, as he remains focused on playing for the C’s, and bring more success to the storied franchise in his first season with them.
