Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball has continued to deal with the constant barrage of attention and criticism from the continued antics of his father, LaVar Ball. It is something that has put him in the constant spotlight. With that in mind, Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving touched upon the topic of LaVar following Wednesday's win over the Lakers.

“Just a supportive father. Some guys are in the front line speaking for their kids. Some parents are in the backline. It's like the loud parent at the graduation clapping and being really loud. We all have our different styles of parenting. I think everyone should appreciate their own. He's in the NBA and living out the dream and I hope his family is living out the dream as well. When I get out on the floor, all of that goes out the window and he's just another competitor I'm trying to get a win on. I'm glad we got the win tonight and going against him was fun.”

This is a stance that many current and former NBA players have taken with LaVar by classifying him as essentially being a loud and supportive parent. All of the other outside noise stemming from that isn't viewed as being much more than being a passion father.

That said, LaVar has continually been in the media spotlight about what he says about his son that hasn't exactly rubbed everyone the right way. It has in many ways put a target on his back for opposing teams on a nightly basis.

Ultimately, this is something that Lonzo has become used to at this point given that his father has always behaved in this manner but is now catching the attention of the media. As long as LaVar remains a prevalent voice off the court, this will stay a topic of discussion in and around the league.
