It has been over a year since Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving decided to turn his back on the Cleveland Cavaliers in search for greener pastures.

Once the trade to the Celtics went through, Irving's delight was palpable, as he put in very little effort to hide is apparent discontent while with the Cavs. As it turns out, the 26-year-old was not only over the moon about the move, but was also exceedingly grateful to his new team for “getting him out” of his apparently unpleasant situation.

Many were shocked by Irving's unexpected exit last summer, especially considering the fact that he had just been to three straight trips to the Finals with the Cavs. However, once his exit was official, several reports came out pertaining to his incessant desire to jump ship.

To this day, stories of a similar nature continue to surface. This time around, it describes how seemingly miserable Irving felt about his situation in Cleveland. It is apparent that the five-time All-Star was so unhappy with the Cavs that staying on for a few more seasons to see out his contract was no longer an option.

In the above tweet, Irving apparently says that playing in Boston was something “special.” This may be construed as yet another veiled shot at his former team, which he seems to have implied to be “less special.”

This narrative is a gift that just keeps on giving. There still seems to be some bad blood between both parties, and a happy ending does not appear to be on the horizon.
