In a surprising news, Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving will reportedly not be fined for his critical comments about the officiating in Game 3 of their second-round series with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Irving didn't directly criticized the officiating in their Game 3 loss to the Bucks. However, he questioned why Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo was able to get 22 free throw attempts, even calling it ridiculous.

Considering that the NBA is usually pretty strict about what guys say in postgame comments, it's odd that Irving dodged a fine. Usually,  his recent remark is enough to get slapped with a fine from league officials.

It's worth noting though that Irving also said during his postgame presser that “the refs have a difficult job.” He then slightly backtracked to his critical comments and went on to say that he is “not going to put all the emphasis on the refereeing.”

To be fair, Antetokounmpo is a physical player who is constantly drawing contact in the paint. He is also a star that benefits from his reputation. From Irving's perception, he got a few too many superstar calls in Game 3.

Regardless, Irving will have to step up his game if the Celtics want a shot at knocking off the Bucks in Game 4, and Boston as a whole will have to figure out a way to contain Giannis without putting him on the stripe.
