Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris is giving credit where credit is due.

After a tumultuous start to their post All-Star break campaign — one which saw them lose four straight games right after returning — the Celtics have won three straight and are now within striking distance of the fourth-seeded Philadelphia 76ers.

The turnaround hasn't been easy for the Beantown team, and Morris admits it would not have been possible without point guard Kyrie Irving leading the way.

“His energy has just taken us to another level. He’s been great for us,” Morris told Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Morris also took a shot at the rumors saying that Irving wants out, emphasizing that Kyrie has been nothing but a leader to the team throughout.

“Everybody been talking about how he want out and all this other shit, but he’s been great for us, a great leader,” Morris furthered.

Irving finished with 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks to lead Boston to a 120-107 victory over the Lakers. He was also pivotal for the team in their 33-point demolition of the Golden State Warriors, putting up a double-double of 19 points and 11 assists.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers star missed Boston's previous game against the Sacramento Kings, but there's no doubt Kyrie Irving has really changed the trajectory that the team was taking last weeks.

Marcus Morris is also not the first one to acknowledge the six-time All-Star for the team's resurgence. Center Al Horford has also nothing but praise for Kyrie, pointing out that the 26-year-old has kept the team engaged and brought them together again.

Boston is set for some tough matches against the LA Clippers, Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets next week, and they will surely need Irving to keep the ball rolling as they try to build more momentum heading to the postseason.
