Through the 2017-18 NBA season, Marcus Morris has missed 20 games for the Boston Celtics, including the last eight with a nagging left knee injury. However, the Celtics received good news about the 28-year-old.

According to John Goodman of ESPN, Morris will make his return on Christmas Day against his twin brother Markieff Morris and the Washington Wizards:

For Morris, he has the rare opportunity to not only play on Christmas Day but be around his brother. While it remains to be seen how many minutes he can actually play coming off an injury, it is a special moment for the Morris family.

Without Morris for half the season, the Celtics are currently 27-9, which marks the best record in the Eastern Conference. However, they are just 5-5 over their last 10 games.

In 16 appearances so far, Morris is averaging 12.1 points and 5.5 rebounds. If Christmas Day marks the first time Morris is truly healthy, he will add another dimension (35.4 percent from the three-point line) for Boston as they work towards dethroning the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.
