The Boston Celtics took a commanding 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers after 48 minutes of intense physical competition. Late in the fourth quarter, Celtics guard Marcus Smart went amock on the Cavs' J.R. Smith for pushing Al Horford while in mid-air.

The livid Smart was separated from Smith before things get out of control and the latter was assessed with a flagrant one foul. After the game, Smart spoke with the media where he called out Smith for his penchant for committing unnecessary plays.

Via RealGM's Keith Smith:

“We're out there to play. Al was defenseless. That was a dirty shot. You can't allow that. Not the first JR has done dirty stuff, especially against us. You keep letting the bully pick on you until you stand up. And that's what I did.”

It should be recalled that in the 2015 playoffs, Smith also got the ire of Celtics fans after his backhand found its way to then-Boston forward Jae Crowder's face. The hit knocked Crowder out and he fell to the floor in an awkward manner which led to a serious knee injury, effectively taking him out of the series.

Smart was a pest all night long for the Cavs. He fought for every loose ball, rebound, and whatnot. He was getting in the face of LeBron James and Kevin Love at the post. His intensity was felt all throughout that has made Celtics legend Bill Russell shower Smart with some huge praise.

While Smart was all over the place with his stellar play, Smith shooting was the same. The Cavs guard was held scoreless, going 0-for-7 on the night.

Games 3 and 4 will be played in Cleveland as the Cavs try to keep their title hopes alive.
