Jimmy Butler dropped 29 points all over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night as he led the Miami Heat in scoring yet again. Despite his strong play, however, the Celtics were still able to blow out the Heat, 127-102, leaving Butler's heroics with nothing to show for.

Also, the 29 points he logged in Game 2 can already be considered as a relatively timid outing for the Heat star considering how he exploded for 41 points in Miami's Game 1 victory.

Marcus Smart was an integral part of the Celtics' success against Butler on Thursday. After the game, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year got honest about relishing the opportunity to match up against Jimmy Butler:

“Jimmy’s a warrior, man. Jimmy’s been doing this a long time,” Smart said, via Jared Weiss of The Athletic. “… I love going up against Jimmy any time I can. As a defensive player, as a competitor, he’s going to make you work, he’s going to make you better.”

Butler has emerged as one of the most explosive scoring machines in the playoffs this season and it's such a treat to see him go up against arguably the best defender in the NBA today. The good news for us fans is that the Celtics and the Heat will battle it out for at least three more games to determine who comes out of what is turning out to be an epic seven-game series.
