Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart missed Monday morning's practice session due to an infection that has spread to both of his eyes, according to a report from Jay King of The Athletic.

At this point, Smart's status is listed as day-to-day, leaving his availability for Wednesday night's road game against the Dallas Mavericks in question. He's missed three straight games.

If Smart is unable to play in Wednesday night's game, the Celtics will likely give a bit more playing time to guys like Jaylen Brown, Brad Wanamaker and Romeo Langford. Kemba Walker, who scored 29 points in Thursday night's 115-109 loss to the Sixers, could see an uptick in his usage rate as well.

In his 20 appearances with the Celtics this season (15 starts), Smart has racked up averages of 11.8 points on 38.7 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from beyond the arc), 4.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 31.8 minutes per outing.

In other injury-related news, Celtics big man Robert Williams is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks after medical testing determined that he has a bone edema in his left hip. He'll be required to limit his activity during the recovery process, according to an official report from the team.

Wednesday night's matchup between the Celtics and Mavericks is set to tip inside the American Airlines Center at 9:30 p.m ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
