Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown has been showing out with huge performances and is currently on a roll in the early stages of the 2020-2021 NBA season. Apparently, his teammate in Marcus Smart turned is a key to his impressive outings early on.

According to NBC Sports, Brown is currently the seventh leading scorer in the league with 27.3 points per game. Smart has always been on the lookout for his teammate as he was credited for 45% of Brown's assisted field goals.

In fact, their connection has already powered them past the Philadelphia 76ers duo of Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris which accounted for 81 points, the Denver Nuggets pairing of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray with 79 points, and the Phoenix Suns tandem of Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton that totaled 74 points.

After their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, Smart shared the reason behind their budding chemistry which has certainly improved the team's overall play this season.

“Just constantly talking. Me and Jaylen have had lots of talks about this year and coming up years and how we’re going to play,” Smart said.

“Especially when I get the ball or he gets the ball, just get out and run. We’re both great passers. We both have good IQ on the basketball court and we know where each other is going to be. I’ve been playing with him for [five] years, and that chemistry is just there.”

Jaylen Brown returned the favor to Smart by also being the top passer for his backcourt running mate. He currently accounts for 36.7% of all of the veteran's assisted field goals this season.

The Celtics have already seen their fair share of struggles this season mainly due to the ravaging effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, the stellar connection between Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart will certainly be a huge part of their pursuit of success moving forward.
