Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has recently spoken out on the oblique injury he recently sustained, which has kept him out of his team's playoff run thus far.

It appears that Smart was in absolute dire pain when the injury first hit him, going as far as likening it to a Mike Tyson body blow.

Smart didn't stop there, and even said that his injury hurt so much that he felt like he had just sustained a gunshot wound. As a professional basketball player, the 25-year-old has had his fair share of injuries, so he obviously understands all types of pains. Therefore, when he says that his current injury hurt like hell, then we must take his word for it.

Smart sustained the injury prior to the start of the playoffs, and the 6-foot-4 combo guard has yet to make an appearance for his side throughout the postseason. As a matter of fact, Celtics head coach Brad Steven suspects that the soonest Smart can return to action would be in the Eastern Conference Finals, assuming, of course, that the C's get that far.

A recent update from ESPN's Tim Bontemps further illustrates how far away Smart is from a potential comeback:

The Celtics have, however, done admirably well despite the absence of their feisty guard, and currently hold a 2-0 series advantage against the Indiana Pacers. Game 3 is scheduled to take place on Friday, as the series now shifts to Indiana. The Pacers will definitely want to avenge their losses and keep this series competitive, so Boston will need to come in as ready as they've ever been in a pivotal Game 3 matchup.
