During the offseason, the Boston Celtics made a lot of headlines for all the moves they made. From trading the top overall pick of the draft to the Philadelphia 76ers, signing Gordon Hayward, to trading for Kyrie Irving, they completed all of these as they believe they are in a better position to contend for a title now.

Their former player, Tyler Zeller, talked about the summer of the Celtics, and shared, via Jared Weiss of USA TODAY Sports, that he thinks it’s one of the craziest he’s ever seen. Now with the Brooklyn Nets, Zeller is still aware of how the Celtics are doing so far this season and believes they did the right moves to get them to where they are now.

“Obviously, when I didn’t play much last year, I kind of sort of knew that was coming and it was what it was,” Zeller said. “I was thankful I was able to get a team to pick me up. I’m very thankful Brooklyn was able to do that and give me this opportunity. The [Celtics’] offseason was one of the craziest I’ve ever seen from a team that made the Eastern Conference Finals. But they’ve shown so far that it was worth it.”

Tyler Zeller’s comments only goes to show that he remains professional and has no ill feelings towards the Celtics despite being waived in the offseason. He understands that it’s not personal and only part of the business. Fortunately for him, the Nets did not waste time in picking him up from waivers, and has since been part of their rotation.

With still more than half of the regular season to be played, it remains to be seen if the Celtics will be able to sustain their strong start to the campaign. However, with a very talented lineup consisting of a good mix of veterans and young guns, coupled with one of the best young coaches in the league today calling the plays for them, it will be hard to imagine them not being able to live up to expectations that they are indeed serious title contenders.
