Jayson Tatum had perhaps his most-shining moment in a Boston Celtics uniform on Tuesday night, leading his team with a 23-point, 11-rebound double-double, including the game-winning pass that set up Marcus Morris for a clutch three to give the Celtics a razor-thin win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Forward Paul George noted the rookie out of Duke was destined for greatness, already showing signs in his game of being a player to build around.

“He looks like a star, he doesn't look like a rookie,” said George, according to Bill Doyle of The Worcester Telegram. “He looks like a star in this league. He has that confidence, he has that game and he's in the organization that's going to help him become a star.”

Tatum was an effective 8-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from deep, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the line, helping make up for the absences of Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart; upon being inserted into the starting lineup.

The rookie is having his best scoring month of the year when it counts the most, putting up 16.3 points an 6.0 rebounds per game along with shooting 49.5 percent from the floor and 40.6 percent from deep during March.

The Celtics have 11 games left in the season and will need Tatum's scoring and dynamic in hopes to help guide them through this latter stretch, missing their go-to scorer in Irving and a few other moving parts.

Tatum is coming off back-to-back 23-point outings, looking to make it three in a row against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
