Former Boston Celtics shooting guard Ray Allen took on the chance to double down on fellow retired player Caron Butler, who had a bone to pick with those fans who burned Isaiah Thomas' jersey following his trade, yet mindlessly want to blame players from leaving a team at one point in their careers.

“Much love, my brother. I got traded before, it was painful,” Butler's caption read. “Players leave for different team, they're disloyal!!! A Judas!! Teams trade a player who gave his heart and soul to the city and team, it's called business. Hmmm. Does that make sense?

“The best way to deal with this business is not have any expectations from anyone but yourself. Keep being you.”

The hypocrisy of today's modern fan is likely not to be stopped by this post, but Allen had his two cents to share about this situation in the comments section.

“I immediately thought the same thing,” wrote Allen. Why is it that we are disloyal for going to a team we feel will be best for us but [sic] their is no outrage towards the teams that trade us. Fans kills us but when a team does it, it's just business. Smh!!!”

Fans have taken fandom to a somewhat extreme level, but the NBA, who has done an excellent job at marketing individuals, is also more susceptible to this individual criticism with a player's growing popularity, just like Allen was when he left the Celtics.
