When it comes to game planning for Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving, you're simply going to have your work cut out for you. Before the Celtics' Monday night matchup against the lowly Dallas Mavericks, Irving received plenty of praise from Mavs longtime head coach Rick Carlisle.

In a tweet posted by Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com, coach Carlisle emphasized how difficult it is to prepare for a player of Irving's caliber.

“Kyrie Irving is as tough a cover as there is in the world,” Carlisle said. “Kyrie, in terms of creativity, is second to none.”

Kyrie Irving is indeed one of the league's most fascinating players on a consistent basis, as the guard has averaged 20.9 points and 5.3 assists per game this season heading into tonight's game in Dallas.

In search of their unprecedented 16th win in a row after losing newly-acquired forward Gordon Hayward and starting off the season 0-2, the Celtics traveled to American Airlines Center tonight to face the Mavs (3-14) in what was labeled as a trap game.

At the end of the third quarter, the Celtics trailed 77-69 after they squandered a huge 14-point lead in the second quarter. Luckily, Boston rallied to pull off a 110-102 win in overtime and improved to 16-2 on the season.

In his last two games, Kyrie Irving has been out for blood. Against both Atlanta and Dallas, the All-Star point guard has gone off for a combined 77 points on 26-of-34 shots made from the field, 10-of-13 from behind the arc and a nearly-perfect 15-of-16 from behind the charity stripe.
