From oversleeping to missing flights to his first practice with the Boston Celtics, Robert Williams’ offseason has been a colorful one so far.

This time around, Williams is dealing with yet another issue, this one concerning his health, as it was earlier reported that the former Texas A&M Aggies big man has a nagging artery condition in his legs. That’s not all, as Williams is also nursing a knee bruise he sustained during a 95-89 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in a Summer League game last Friday.

Williams is understandably frustrated over the injury, as it forced him to miss the next two games in the Summer League and seemingly aggravated a knee tendinitis issue he’s been enduring for the past year. That being said, he is optimistic that he’ll be back into action sooner than later, per A. Sherrod Blakely of NBC Sports Boston.

“Tendinitis is something terrible, but I’m looking to come back as soon as possible,” said Williams who added that he’s taking it “day-to-day.”

Williams played in only six minutes in the Sixers game and exited after recording just four points and two rebounds.

The Celtics have every reason to be extra cautious of Williams’ health. After all, Summer League games are not worth risking their rookie’s health any further.

Williams is being groomed to be among the featured frontcourt pieces of the Celtics. The 20-year-old center was selected by the Celtics 27th overall in last month’s NBA Draft. In his last season in College Station, Williams stitched together a stat line of 10.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game.
