The Boston Celtics will be shorthanded in Wednesday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, with the team announcing that Shane Larkin will miss the game.

Brad Stevens said Wednesday morning that Larkin is very sore and that he would be out for the foreseeable future. Stevens said surgery probably won't be needed but Larkin would work with the Celtics training staff to rehab.

“We're just going to have other guys step up. We're used to that,” Stevens said at Wednesday morning's shootaround via ESPN. “At the end of the day, that is what it is. [Larkin has] played really well in this series. And he's done a lot of great things for us all year and through the playoffs.”

Larkin had only played two minutes in Game 4 before running into a Joel Embiid screen and hurting his shoulder. He has been a key part of the Celtics playoff run Kyrie Irving still out. When Marcus Smart was out, Larkin took most of his minutes, but now that he is back Larkin's minutes have gone back down a bit. Still, Larkin was a big part of the Celtics' second unit and will be missed tonight.

“We've just got to do what we can,” Celtics starting point guard Terry Rozier said. “This has been our team. We had to get Game 1 without Jaylen Brown, so the story continues. It's just the way it goes.”

In 11 games this postseason, Larkin is averaging 3.7 points, 1.8 assists, and one rebound, and 14 minutes played per game.

Larkin hasn't been shooting a high percentage but he still has turned into a guy that Brad Stevens can lean on when he needs someone.
