Payton Pritchard has already become something of a cult hero for the Boston Celtics early in the season with his contributions at point guard. After having an embarrassing video of himself released earlier this week by Jaylen Brown, another shirtless video of Pritchard dancing was posted by Tristan Thompson following Wednesday's victory over the Miami Heat.

This is apparently becoming a bit of a tradition:

On Wednesday night, the Celtics found themselves in a nail-biting contest with the Heat. With the game tied at 105 with a few seconds remaining, it was Pritchard who tipped in the game-winning shot, giving Boston its third win in a row to get to a stellar 6-3 on the young season.

As a form of celebration, Thompson took to Instagram to reveal a hilarious video of Pritchard dancing shirtless. Multiple teammates took to the comments as well, poking fun at the rookie point guard.

Due to Kemba Walker being sidelined to begin the season, along with an injury to Marcus Smart, Pritchard has seen an expanded role early in the season. The Oregon product has produced 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in his first nine games in the NBA.

But it was his performance on Monday night versus the Toronto Raptors that really got everyone talking about Pritchard. In Boston's 126-114 win over the Raptors, Pritchard posted a season-high 23 points and eight assists while playing 32 minutes amid the absence of Smart.

While the team was itching for someone to emerge at point guard in the absence of Walker, it's Pritchard who has risen to the occasion. Even though the team continues to post embarrassing videos of him dancing, it's evident they are rallying behind him right now.
