If you're a fan of any professional sport, there is a good chance that you've tried, in some way or another, to reach out to your favorite athlete on a personal level. There are many ways in which fans try to communicate with their favored sportsperson, including hand-written letters, tweets, and arena signs (to name a few).

On Monday morning, the Boston Celtics gave their fans a unique opportunity. In a surprising move, the team posted a contact number where fans can reach All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The post immediately sparked a series of amusing reply comments. Twitter user @jtackeff decided to ask Irving if the Earth is indeed flat. A fair question, right?

And how about this tweet from @reed_grubbz?

@Jayzoh_ wants Kyrie to know how he really feels.

For the record, the contact number that was given by the Celtics in their tweet is not Irving's daily digits. It seems as though the team just wanted to give fans a special way to welcome the former No. 1 overall pick to the city of Boston.
