Former Boston Celtics big man Kendrick Perkins in on the mic again, and this time, he has shed some light on the whole Rajon Rondo-Ray Allen feud. According to Perkins, this all began when Allen wanted to get Rondo off the team in exchange for Chris Paul.

Perkins recently went on an interview on Sirius XM NBA Radio, and he broke down exactly what happened in the buildup to the bust-up.

“It was brought to the table, ‘what if we trade Rondo and get CP?’” Perkins narrated, via Larry Brown of Larry Brown Sports. “And KG and Paul (Pierce) were like, ‘no, we ain’t doing that. As great as CP is, we just won the championship. We’re rocking with [Rondo].’ Ray was like, ‘nah, let’s do it.’ And what happened was Rondo ended up finding out about it, and that was it from there.”

This is not the first time we've heard of this rumor, so Perkins' revelation here is not entirely groundbreaking. Then again, this is coming from a source that was actually within the Celtics team when this happened, so perhaps this gives the narrative more credibility. We're just not sure if Perkins was in the inner circle of Boston's top guys when they actually discussed this potential trade or if Perkins is just retelling this story from information that he's gathered subsequently.

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Rondo and Allen had a ruined relationship moving forward. Things got so bad that according to Perkins, these two even went at it in a boxing ring soon after these trade rumors surfaced. It does not appear that Rondo and Allen have hashed things out to this very day, so clearly, there is still some bad blood there.
