Tony Allen believes it's always best to let bygones be bygones. Allen is pulling out this long-standing notion in the context of Ray Allen and his unsettled beef with the championship-winning Boston Celtics side from 2008.

Allen, who himself played a pivotal role for the C's during that memorable title run, recently went on the record to say that he truly hopes that they are all able to put the past behind them. Allen has heard both sides and understands Allen's decision-making process:

“I heard both sides,” Tony Allen said, as transcribed by CelticsBlog, via Gabby Gerard of NESN. “Some guys felt (Ray Allen) should’ve holla’d at them before he left, but we all know how tricky this business is. Upstairs management, he probably didn’t see eye-to-eye with them and then turmoil with the teammates just gave him enough in his mindset to say I’m just as good enough to play with some of these other talented players which was the upcoming LeBron and Dwyane Wade guys.”

For some background, Tony Allen was referring to Ray Allen's shocking decision to part ways with Boston in 2012 To make matters worse, he teamed up with one of the Celtics' most bitter adversaries in the Miami Heat. As it appears, some guys from that particular Boston team still hold a grudge with Ray to this very day.

This is not the case for Tony Allen, and he even claims Kevin Garnett isn't mad at Ray Allen:

“I’m not mad at him,” Allen claimed. “I’m pretty sure Ticket (Kevin Garnett) ain’t mad at him, but we definitely need to get some type of reunion going.”

That would be some reunion, and one that we wouldn't mind hearing all about. If that happens, can the NBA or ESPN or someone have live coverage, please?
