The Boston Celtics were ecstatic when they landed one of the prized free agents this offseason, Gordon Hayward. They had their eyes set on him since last season, and planned well enough on how they are going to pitch to him, as they believe that he was the missing link to their championship aspirations.

Now that they have him on board, the team wants to make sure he feels welcome in Beantown by their fans. However, instead of having a welcome party, or a public appearance in the city with Hayward, their social media team decided to post a phone number on Twitter for fans to call or send him messages to their new recruit.

It can be recalled that after Jimmy Butler was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, he gave out his number while on the podium, and even answered some calls and text messages sent to him by fans. The only problem was, there were others who owned mobile numbers close to his that were also bombarded with calls and SMS.

Luckily, that isn't the case here as the Celtics were sensible enough to not give out their star's actual number, but rather just some digits where he can be contacted by anyone during a particular period.
