Al Horford, who has agreed to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, was offered a similar deal by the Boston Celtics but with ‘significantly less' money.

Speaking on The Jump, ESPN's Adrian Wojnaworski revealed that the Celtics also gave Horford a four-year deal, but they lost to the Sixers who paid the veteran big man $109 million.

The trade could shake up things in the Eastern Conference. Now, the Sixers have Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid and Horford in the roster. They will also have Josh Richardson, whom they will receive via a sign-and-trade deal with the Miami Heat for Jimmy Butler.

Since the emergence of Simmons and Embiid, the Sixers have quickly risen up the NBA ranks. In the past two seasons, Philly has made it to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. And little by little, they've made little adjustments to their roster with hopes of bolstering their chances of winning.

The Butler experiment didn't work. So now, they are moving on from that chapter and added a veteran in Horford — a five-time All-Star who has been selected to the All-Defensive Teams multiple times. Though he's had some tense games with Embiid and crew, all of that has to be forgotten now — they're teammates and share the same goal of winning the NBA title.
