The Boston Celtics will go all in for New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis this summer, but only if star point guard Kyrie Irving re-signs with the club, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

It is widely assumed the Celtics are willing to make everyone on the roster except Irving available in a Davis trade this summer.

Irving, who can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his 2019-20 player option with Boston, told fans at the TD Garden at the beginning of the season he was going to stay in Beantown.

If Kyrie Irving keeps his word and re-signs with Boston, expect the Celtics to offer the Pelicans Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and all of their draft picks for Anthony Davis.

However, if Irving doesn't re-sign with the Celtics, Boston could keep their youngsters on the team and just rebuild with them. It would be foolish to part ways with Tatum or Brown to get Davis if Irving isn't on the team as well.

The brain trust in Boston reportedly still feels confident Irving will stay with them, but it's not a guarantee after how this season has gone for the Celtics.

This summer is going to be very interesting in the NBA.
