It's already been a wild offseason for the Boston Celtics and it doesn't figure to be quieting down anytime soon.

First, Danny Ainge stepped aside from the Celtics' front office. Then Brad Stevens went from head coach to Ainge's old job. Now, we have an unhappy star on the roster.

Via Bleacher Report, both Kemba Walker and the Celtics will seek to separate this offseason.

A source close to Walker said he was hurt by Boston's efforts to trade him, which created a rift in the Walker-Ainge relationship. Walker has a great relationship with his teammates and looked forward to being a veteran mentor to Tatum and Brown, but the same can't be said about Walker and the front office. He no longer feels wanted. – Bleacher Report.

The season itself turned out to be one filled with one disappointment after another for the Celtics. With pre-season aspirations of being a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference, the reality turned out to be Boston having to claw through the play-in tournament just to get a spot in the playoffs. They were eliminated in five games in the first-round by the Brooklyn Nets.

With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both emerging as all-star players, the foundation is in place for the Celtics. Walker figured to be part of that going forward but now apparently wants out. It sounds as though Boston may accelerate the idea and seek a trade partner as well.

Trading Walker will prove to be awfully difficult as he is set to earn $36 million in 2021-22. Still, someone could take the bait for the Celtics guard.
