Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis won’t be excited to tell his legendary father about at least one play during Monday’s home game against the Boston Celtics.

Hall of Famer Arvydas Sabonis is in Hoosier State tonight to watch his son play, but Celtics rookie forward Jayson Tatum ruined the elder Sabonis’ viewing experience by unleashing a vicious tomahawk slam right in the face of Domantas.

Aryvdas didn’t seem to be happy seeing his son get dunked on in front of his family.

Perhaps Jayson Tatum’s throwdown also brought back memories of a traumatic experience Arvydas once had during his playing days in the NBA, when the Los Angeles Lakers treated the Lithuanian legend like a Washington General to their Harlem Globetrotter.

In any case, the basketball legend would rather see his son Domantas challenge a shot and get humiliated than not trying to stop a shot at all because that’s how the Sabonises play basketball.

Domantas Sabonis is just in his second year in the league, and he’s going to get beat at the rim for many times in the future. That said, he’s developing into a fine player himself, as he’s now averaging 12.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game so far this season.
