Nearly everything was coming up Celtic green during Boston's first half Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors, including the incredible dish guard Marcus Smart made to a cutting Gordon Hayward just prior to halftime.

That's when you know that you've got it all working. It would impossible to tell by simply watching the contest that Boston is playing the defending NBA Champions after having lost five of their six games. The swagger that the team brought to the court for the first 24 minutes Tuesday was nearly perfectly encapsulated by that one Smart pass, in itself daring, but also intuitive.

It's been an odd season for Smart, who has moved into the starting five on a somewhat consistent basis for the first time in his career. Despite that, he has seen his numbers take a dip in many categories. Where they have not stagnated was shooting the ball — where he is up to 41.2 percent overall entering the night — and stealing the ball, as he has averaged a career-best 1.7 per game ahead of Tuesday.

Smart inked a four-year, $52 million extension to remain with the franchise during the offseason. The two sides will be married to one another for at least the next three years, with Smart currently serving as the long-tenured lifeblood of the Celtics' roster despite the fact that he remains just 24 years old. But when putting such scintillating passing on display, it's easy to forget that Smart is beyond his years, and when it comes to no-look dishes, beyond his peers.
