Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry could return to the field as early as this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens but coach Anthony Lynn said he is going to need to see a lot from Henry to allow him to play. Henry is recovering from a torn ACL and it wasn't expected that he was going to be able to go this year, but with the Chargers making the playoffs he could return and if he does he would provide a big boost to the offense.

“We want to give a good look at him this week to see where he’s at,” Lynn said, via Eric Williams of ESPN.com. “I like the progress that he’s been making, but he hasn’t played football for a long time — since last December … so it’s been a while. He’s going to need to really show us that he’s ready [to play].

“I believe that the knee is stable. We did some things last week and thought he looked really good. Now, it’s just about conditioning, the chemistry with the offense and just playing football.”

Henry tore his ACL in May during offseason training but with the advancement in medicine, players seem to be returning from the injuries faster than ever before.

If Henry can't return this week they still have Virgil Green and Antonio Gates who both have been decent this season. If he can't return this week and the Chargers beat the Ravens there is still a chance he could return later in the postseason, as long as he is on the active roster by Monday.
