Anthony Lynn knows this is a delicate situation. Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry hasn't seen the field since Week 1 after being diagnosed with a left tibia plateau fracture. In his absence, the Chargers haven't gotten much production out of the position with backup Virgil Green hauling in one reception for five yards in Week 5's loss to the Denver Broncos.

Head coach Anthony Lynn was able to give the media and fans some clarity on Henry's status as it was reported last week that Henry began working out on the sidelines of Chargers practice.

Los Angeles' passing attack could use the help as wide receivers Mike Williams and Travis Benjamin have been dealing with lingering back and hip injuries respectively. Their loss to Denver Broncos sets them back in terms of giving themselves a shot to make the playoffs, which is why they need Henry now more than ever.

Injuries have been the story with Henry for the past few seasons as he missed all of the 2018 season with a torn ACL and suffered a kidney laceration which caused him to miss the final games of the 2017 season.

The Bolts need a reliable pass catching threat to go along side Keenan Allen. Philip Rivers has always saw the tight end position as a fail safe as seen in his many years with Antonio Gates. If Henry can prove to be a threat over the middle, it will open up other options for the Chargers and make the soon to be 38 year old Rivers' life much easier.
