Antonio Gates didn't sign with the Los Angeles Chargers until a week before the season started and it was only because of an injury to Hunter Henry but now the future Hall of Famer is returning to the playoffs and after the game, he talked about how emotional it is.

Gates has accomplished almost everything in his NFL career but one thing he hasn't done is win a ring, and he's finally getting another chance.

“Very emotional,” Gates said via the Chargers' team website. “I think what happens is that you think about all the hard times and the things you had to go through to get to this point. I think that’s what sticks out the most. Any time you’re able to put yourself in a position where you can accomplish certain goals, I think the first thing that comes to mind is the people that did it with you. (The people who) went through the trials and tribulations with you, and just all the sacrifices you’ve put in, and for me, just putting into this organization.”

Gates has taken on a smaller role this year but that wasn't the case on Thursday night where he was a huge part of the offense. Gates had four catches for 55 yards with a long reception of 22 yards. The most important part of the receptions is they came in key spots and that is something that has been the case all year. When Phillip Rivers needs to make a big throw, a lot of the time the ball has been going to Gates.
