Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler hinted that he would be playing against the New England Patriots in Week 8 action with an Instagram post showing himself in a fantasy football lineup with a winking face emoji. Ekeler then followed that up by confirming to ESPN's Adam Schefter that he indeed will be suiting up.

There had been some concern about Ekeler's status earlier in the week. The Chargers running back was officially listed as questionable with a hip injury after missing several practices, but now it looks like he's going to be good to go.

That's a relief for the Chargers and fantasy football managers everywhere. Ekeler has been very productive this season, rushing 73 times for 356 yards and four touchdowns in six games. He also has 27 catches for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

Los Angeles is coming off a Week 7 bye. The Chargers are 4-2 on the season, which is good for second in the AFC West behind the Las Vegas Raiders. Ekeler's squad did suffer a serious setback in their last game, losing 34-6 to the Baltimore Ravens.

This game against the Patriots will be a tough one. While New England is 3-4, Mac Jones and Co. have been competitive and beat the New York Jets 54-13 last week. This should be a fun matchup between Jones and Justin Herbert.
