Where will Tom Brady play football in 2020? It's the question that has been dominating talk shows covering the league seemingly since moments after the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl. But now a new voice has jumped into the fray — Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler:

“Here’s why I think it would be a good fit. We just lost a lot of leadership in Philip Rivers, right? So it’s like, all right, there’s a void there,” the Chargers running back said via Pro Football Talk. “Also, Russell Okung, one of our tackles, got traded. He was one of our team leaders as well. So there’s a void in leadership right there. It’s an opportunity for people to step up, but if you bring a guy like Tom Brady in the room, he’s been there, done that. He’s already got the leadership qualities and he’s already proven that he’s a winner. So hey, we can build something around that, too.”

Ekeler recently inked a four-year, $24.5 million deal to remain with the Chargers himself, so getting a new signal-caller that could step in right away and replace Rivers' production seems to be at the forefront of his mind.

Brady hasn't tipped his hand one way or the other as it pertains to where he might suit up in 2020.

While sportsbooks still have a strong inclination that he winds up back in New England, many around the league have speculated he'll have a new home; Ekeler hopes that Brady makes that new home with the Chargers.
