The Los Angeles Chargers took one on the chin Sunday, losing to the Denver Broncos 28-13 in Mile High Stadium. The Chargers played sloppy football, struggling for consistency offensively and failing to stop the ground game once again defensively. Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert addressed the media after the loss.

Herbert addressed the team's performance and their inability to overcome mistakes. He detailed how difficult it was playing behind the chains all day. A lot of that focus was on penalties committed by the Chargers. Los Angeles was flagged nine times for 75 yards. That does not include the few times the penalties were declined.

The lack of discipline from the Chargers hurt the team, constantly forcing the offense to battle uphill. But that was only one of the many reasons for the loss Sunday.

The Chargers once again could not stop the run. They allowed 147 yards rushing to the Broncos, and Denver was three for three on scoring touchdowns in the red zone. Meanwhile, Herbert and offense had a hard time also.

Herbert threw two more interceptions Sunday, one of which was returned for a game-sealing touchdown.

With a little over seven minutes remaining and the Chargers down 14, Herbert's pass deflected off Austin Ekeler's hands and Patrick Surtain took it back for the score.

In a game where the opposing quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, had to leave to due injury, the Chargers lost on both sides of the ball Sunday.

The loss dropped the Chargers into a 3-way tie for 2nd place in the division, a game behind the idle Kansas City Chiefs.
