Longtime Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. is finally free. After a tumultuous final season as a member of the Broncos, the only NFL franchise that former Kansas Jayhawks standout had played for in his career, Harris Jr. became an unrestricted free agent this offseason en route to landing with the rival Los Angeles Chargers.

However, it appears as though the Chargers were not the only team in the mix for Harris Jr.'s services. In addition to the Chargers, it appears as though both the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints were vying to sign the veteran defensive back, Harris recently disclosed during an appearance on the RapSheet + Friends podcast from Westwood One Sports.

“They kind of came out of nowhere at the end. It was kind of winding down to the  Saints or the Eagles, and they popped up out of nowhere … I felt like that would be a great, an even better fit for me.”

Knowing Harris Jr., though, he was surely enticed by the fact that he can now play his former team in the Broncos not once but twice per season as a member of the Chargers. Not only that, but the Chargers currently boast one of the league's best secondaries as Los Angeles is absolutely loaded on defense.

In addition to Harris Jr., the Chargers are also sporting the likes of Casey Hayward, Desmond King, Derwin James and Nasir Adderley in the defensive backfield, which could quickly become the top group in the league in 2020-21.
