The Los Angeles Chargers made a huge splash with the addition of former Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. in free agency. It seems their sense of urgency made quite the impression on Harris when it came down to finding a new home.

The Chargers have been busy filling the necessary voids on their roster this offseason. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, he was admittedly intrigued by their sense of urgency to compete for a championship:

“They want to win and they’re saying the time is now, and they’re acting urgent,” Harris said. “And that’s what I want. I want an organization who wants to win and who’s showing it, and that’s what they’re doing.

Harris also touched up on how they view his role on defense.

“They just want me to come in here and be a leader, come out here and make plays and be able to just elevate this defense, and really just add more versatility.”

Harris is not the only one with high expectations for Los Angeles in the 2020 NFL season. It appears even rival NFL executives acknowledged that they are much more closer to competing for a championship than ushering in a rebuild.

The Chargers managed to kill two birds with one stone by taking away such a vital piece if a rival defense and adding it to their own. A player of Harris' caliber could be just the spark this secondary needs to help usher in a new era at SoFi Stadium in style for the 2020 NFL season.
