The Los Angeles Chargers made quite a splash with the signing of cornerback Chris Harris Jr. in free agency. It appears he already has an idea of his role for the 2020 NFL season.

Harris' versatile skill set will offer up some flexibility for defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. According to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry, he plans on putting it to use across the board:

New Chargers CB Chris Harris says he will play outside and in the slot in Gus Bradley's defense. He also chuckled and says he could play emergency safety, if needed.

It is encouraging to see that Harris has already embraced the prospect of playing wherever he is most needed. A player of his caliber is certainly capable of providing Los Angeles with plenty of bang for their buck and should help pay huge dividends for Bradley on defense.

Of course, this hardly comes as any surprise considering Harris admittedly has a chip on his shoulder coming into the 2020 campaign. His decision to stick around in the AFC West will also give him an opportunity to square off against his former team in the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers boast plenty of star power in the secondary with Harris forming one of the most talented corner tandems in the league alongside Casey Hayward Jr. while safety Derwin James makes his return over the top.

Although there is plenty of speculation regarding the team's situation under center, this may very well be the group that helps them usher in a new era at SoFi Stadium in style.
